Smith Insurance Service is committed to safeguarding the personal information entrusted to us by our clients. We manage your personal information in accordance with Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act and other applicable laws. This policy applies to all Smith Insurance Service companies. The policy also applies to any person providing services on our behalf.

What is personal information?

Personal information means information about an identifiable individual. This includes an individual’s name, home address and phone number, age, sex, marital or family status, an identifying number, financial information, educational history, etc.

What personal information do we collect?

We collect information from you when you place an order, subscribe to our newsletter, respond to a survey or fill out a form.

We collect only the personal information that we need for the purposes of providing services to our clients, including personal information needed to:

We normally collect information directly from our clients, however, we may collect your information from other persons with your consent or as authorized by law.

If you decide to opt-in to our mailing list, you will receive emails that may include company news, updates, related product or service information, etc.

Do we disclose any information to outside parties?

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your personally identifiable information. Every employee at Smith Insurance Service, as a condition of employment, takes responsibility for protecting client privacy, confidentiality, and security. This obligation will remain in effect even after an employee leaves Smith Insurance Service.

Appropriate controls are in place over computer systems and data processing procedures and these controls are reviewed on an ongoing basis to ensure compliance with our security and privacy policies.

Smith Insurance Service destroys, or erases any personal information that is no longer needed.
